About this print
A cut-away animal cell whose organelles print as separate pieces: nucleus, mitochondria, lysosomes, Golgi body, rough endoplasmic reticulum, centrosomes and vacuole. Glue or place them in the open quarter of the cell.
Printing the parts separately means any single-colour printer can make a colourful model, and students can arrange the organelles themselves.
Design by sevenbravo on Printables, shared under CC BY 4.0. The files and photos are the designer's, unchanged.
Printing and using it
- Print the cell body and each organelle, ideally in different colours.
- Students place each organelle and explain what it does ("the mitochondria release energy from food").
- Glue the parts once they are right, or keep them loose for a matching game.
- Pair it with the plant cell model to compare the two.
