About this print

Otto is an open-source robot that walks, dances, makes sounds and avoids obstacles. It runs on an Arduino Nano with four servos and an ultrasonic sensor, and is programmed with Otto Blockly (blocks) or the Arduino IDE.

A complete robotics project: printing, wiring, assembly and coding, from first blocks to C++.

Design by HP Robots Otto on Printables, shared under CC BY-SA 4.0. The files and photos are the designer's, unchanged.

Printing and using it

  1. Print head, body, legs and feet: PLA, 0.2 mm, 15% infill, no supports (about 100 g).
  2. Choose the head for your board (Nano shield, ESP8266 or Ninja) and the body for your battery or switch.
  3. Assemble with four SG90 servos, an ultrasonic sensor and a buzzer (guides at ottodiy.com).
  4. Start with Otto Blockly: walk forward, stop at a wall, turn. Then move to the Arduino IDE.
