My Body Blueprint: Engineering a Geometric Character
Description
In this highly engaging interdisciplinary project for the "Myself" theme, children will step into the roles of spatial engineers and artists! The activity begins by inviting a group of children to visually observe themselves in a magic mirror, sparking their curiosity by finding geometric shapes on their body parts. They will then explore mathematical concepts by solving the mystery of the flat (2D) shapes hiding on every side of 3D geometric blocks.
By carefully drafting on their blueprint before stamping, children will learn crucial spatial planning skills. This project combines concrete mathematical data collection with body movement exploration, culminating in a magical technology integration where the children's stamped artwork is digitally animated.
