About

What is Algebraic Tiles Explorer?

The Algebraic Tiles Explorer is an interactive digital manipulative tool designed to help students visualize and solve abstract math problems. By dragging, snapping, and rotating virtual geometric tiles (representing x², x, and 1) on the Canvas, users can physically model polynomials, equations, and perform complex algebraic operations like factorisation in a highly intuitive environment.

STEM connections

This tool bridges the gap between spatial geometry and abstract algebra, making it a perfect fit for a comprehensive STEAM curriculum.

Science & Math

Transform abstract equations into physical geometry. Teachers can use the Canvas to visually demonstrate polynomial addition, subtraction, and most importantly, factorisation. By arranging an algebraic expression into a perfect rectangle, students can instantly identify the factors by measuring the rectangle's length and width.

Technology & Engineering

Explore logic and spatial computing. Students interact with a dynamic Canvas featuring smart-snapping logic and coordinate-based bounds, giving them an underlying perspective on how bounding boxes, collision detection, and user interfaces are engineered.

The Arts (Visual & Spatial Design)

Algebra becomes a visual puzzle. The process of tiling and arranging shapes to form perfect rectangles engages visual-spatial learners, connecting the concept of 2D geometric areas (length × width) directly to algebraic logic.
