About
What is the Exam Problem Analysis Tool?
This utility is a powerful, automated psychometric analysis tool designed for educators and instructional coordinators. Instead of manually calculating standard deviations or item discrimination, teachers simply paste a link to their grading spreadsheet. The tool instantly processes the data to evaluate the overall health of the exam, identifying which questions successfully measured student knowledge and which ones may be flawed, confusing, or miskeyed.

Classroom Utility & Actionable Insights
This tool moves grading beyond just assigning scores, providing deep insights into the assessment itself.
Quality Control (Item Analysis)
By calculating the Difficulty Index and Discrimination Index, the tool flags bad questions. If a question is marked "Hard" but has "Poor" discrimination, it means high-performing students got it wrong just as often as low-performing students. This signals to the teacher that the question is likely confusing, poorly worded, or has an incorrect answer key.
Cohort Comparison
If multiple classes (or separate years) take the same test, teachers can place them in separate sheets within the same Google Spreadsheet. The Cross-Sheet Comparison dashboard will overlay their data, allowing the educator to instantly see if Period 2 struggled significantly more with a specific concept than Period 4.
Grading Band Distribution (Pearson)
The customizable Pearson Level configuration allows teachers to map out custom grading curves or proficiency bands (e.g., Novice, Proficient, Advanced) and instantly visualize what percentage of the class fell into each mastery level.
