About
What is the Precision Tuner?
The Precision Tuner is a highly responsive, digital audio utility designed to help users accurately measure and adjust the pitch of physical objects—ranging from traditional musical instruments to DIY projects like water bottle xylophones. Using real-time microphone input and an advanced autocorrelation algorithm, it detects the exact frequency of a sound and visually maps it to a standard musical scale.
Core Utility Features
This tool functions as an essential acoustic workbench for analyzing sound waves, pitch, and relative frequencies.
Real-Time Frequency Detection
The moment a sound is detected, the application calculates and displays its exact frequency in Hertz (Hz). This provides a direct, scientific measurement of the sound waves vibrating through the air, allowing for high-precision physical adjustments.
Solfege & Scale Mapping
By selecting a Base Key from the dropdown, the tuner dynamically shifts its scale. It translates raw frequencies into intuitive Solfege syllables (Do, Re, Mi) and scientific note values (e.g., C4, G4), bridging the gap between raw physics and musical theory.
Reference Tones & Visual Gauge
A built-in synthesizer provides perfect reference tones for ear-training. When testing an object, the visual gauge instantly indicates if the pitch is Flat (too low) or Sharp (too high), guiding the user smoothly into the green "Perfect" zone.
